Also, the error I get on the Steam version is the "check your internet connection, something something try later" one. My EA password doesn't have any special characters, and it's less than 10. Is there something I'm missing? Like, is Galactic Adventures necessary to register an account for some reason? I also tried deleting the login.prop file as some have suggested, and it too changed nothing.Ĭurrently I'm awaiting a reply from EA support to see if I can get Spore Creature Creator added to my account, since it has worked for some users and it's the only thing I haven't tried. So why is it that when trying to register an account in-game I always get "an unknown error occured during registration, please try again", both on the Steam and Origin versions (I never had them installed at the same time btw)? I never had a Spore account, which is proven by the page showing my email address on the top instead of an username. However, when I try to redeem it Origin says it's already been used. It didn't generate the key on the Steam version, but when I installed on Origin it finally appeared. On this guide it says that this new copy doesn't allow you to log-in by itself, but may generate the key. I contacted support to try and get Spore on Origin, and I got it. The regedit method led nowhere, as the it showed as %CDKEY%. I saw the pinned post on this subreddit informing me that the servers are up, and I began following the guides on how to create an account.Īs it goes without saying, Steam didn't give me the CD key. Recently (like last week) I thought it would be cool to play the game again on a new laptop. My computer eventually died and for a long time the game was forgotten. I bought Spore (base Spore, no expansion packs nor Creature Creator) on Steam many years ago, thought the servers were down, never questioned it. I know you all must be tired of these types of posts, but I really am desperate.
